Biography of Joseph Polchinski

Joseph Polchinski (* 16. May 1954 in Hawthorne; † 2. February 2018 in Santa Barbara) was a physicist working on string theory. He was 63 years old. His education included California Institute of Technology, University of California, Berkeley and Canyon del Oro High School. He received 6 awards, including Physics Frontiers Prize, Breakthrough Prize in Fundamental Physics. His cause of death was brain cancer.
