Biography of Karl Weierstraß

Karl Weierstraß (* 31. October 1815 in Ostenfelde; † 19. February 1897 in Berlin) was a deutscher Mathematiker. He was 81 years old. His education included University of Bonn, University of Münster, Gymnasium Theodorianum and University of Königsberg. He worked at Frederick William University Berlin, Gewerbeinstitut Berlin, Collegium Hosianum and 2nd middle school in Wałcz. He received 7 awards, including honorary doctor of the University of Königsberg, Copley Medal. His cause of death was pneumonia. He was buried at Alter Domfriedhof der St.-Hedwigs-Gemeinde.
