Biography
Kurt Masur (* July 18, 1927 in Brzeg; † December 19, 2015 in Greenwich) was a german conductor. He was 88 years old. He was married to Irmgard Kaul and Tomoko Sakurai. He studied at University of Music and Theatre Leipzig. He received 5 awards, including Leo-Baeck-Medal, Great Cross with Star and Sash of the Order of Merit of the Federal Republic of Germany. His cause of death was Parkinson's disease. He was buried at Leipzig South Cemetery.
