Leonid Hurwicz (* 21. August 1917 in Moscow; † 24. June 2008 in Minneapolis) was a polish-American economist and mathematician. He was 90 years old. His education included London School of Economics and Political Science, Faculty of Law and Administration, University of Warsaw, Harvard University, University of Chicago, University of Warsaw and Graduate Institute of International Studies. He received 10 awards, including Guggenheim Fellowship, National Medal of Science. His cause of death was kidney failure.
