Biography
Leszek Kołakowski (* October 23, 1927 in Radom; † July 17, 2009 in Oxford) was a philosopher, historian of ideas. He was 81 years old. His education included University of Łódź and University of Warsaw. He received 8 awards, including Erasmus Prize, Peace Prize of the German Publishers' and Booksellers' Association. He was buried at Powązki Military Cemetery.
