Biography of Marcel Detienne

Marcel Detienne (* 11. October 1935 in Liège; † 21. March 2019 in Nemours) was a belgischer Religionswissenschaftler, Altphilologe, historischer Anthropologe und Kulturkomparatist. He was 83 years old. His education included École pratique des hautes études and University of Liège. He worked at Johns Hopkins University, School for Advanced Studies in the Social Sciences, University of Paris and École pratique des hautes études. His awards include Guggenheim Fellowship and Amic Prize.
