Biography of Maria Janion

Maria Janion (* 24. December 1926 in Mońki; † 23. August 2020 in Warsaw) was a polnische Literaturwissenschaftlerin und Hochschullehrerin. She was 93 years old. She studied at University of Warsaw. She worked at University of Gdańsk, University of Warsaw and Institute of Literary Research, Polish Academy of Sciences. She received 7 awards, including Golden Medal for Merit to Culture, Paszport Polityki. She was buried at Powązki Military Cemetery.
