Mary Midgley (* September 13, 1919 in London; † October 10, 2018 in Jesmond) was a british philosopher and ethicist. She was 99 years old. She was married to Geoffrey Midgley. Her education included Somerville College, Downe House, Durham University and Newcastle University. Her awards include Fellow of the Royal Society of Literature, Edinburgh Medal and Doctor of Civil Law.
