Michael Somare (* 9. April 1936 in Rabaul; † 25. February 2021 in Port Moresby) was a papua New Guinean political figure, former prime minister. He was 84 years old. He was married to Veronica Somare. His awards include Knight of the Order of St. Gregory the Great, Knight Grand Cross of the Order of St Michael and St George and Grand Cordon of the Order of the Rising Sun. His cause of death was pancreatic cancer.
