Biography of Monier Monier-Williams

Monier Monier-Williams (* 12. November 1819 in Mumbai; † 11. April 1899 in Cannes) was an englischer Indologe, Sanskritwissenschaftler und Orientalist. He was 79 years old. He had at least 2 children (1 son and 1 daughter). His education included Balliol College, University College, Oxford and King's College School. He worked at University of Oxford. His awards include Knight Commander of the Order of the Indian Empire, honorary doctor of the University of Calcutta and Knight Bachelor.
