Oscar Lewis (* 25. December 1914 in New York City; † 16. December 1970 in New York City) was an uS-amerikanischer Anthropologe. He was 55 years old. His education included Columbia University and City College of New York. He worked at Brooklyn College, University of Illinois Urbana–Champaign, Washington University in St. Louis and University of Washington. His awards include Guggenheim Fellowship, National Book Award and Anisfield-Wolf Book Awards. His cause of death was myocardial infarction.
