Phil Woods (* 2. November 1931 in Springfield; † 29. September 2015 in Stroudsburg) was an american jazz alto saxophonist, clarinetist, bandleader, and composer. He was 83 years old. He was married to Chan Parker. His education included Juilliard School and Manhattan School of Music. He was awarded the NEA Jazz Masters. His cause of death was pulmonary emphysema.
