Pierre Bourdieu (* 1. August 1930 in Denguin; † 23. January 2002 in 12th arrondissement of Paris) was a french sociologist, anthropologist, and philosopher. He was 71 years old. He was married to Marie-Claire Bourdieu. His education included École Normale Supérieure, Lycée Louis-Barthou and Lycée Louis-le-Grand. He received 9 awards, including CNRS Gold medal, Ernst Bloch Award. His cause of death was cancer. He was buried at Père Lachaise Cemetery.
