Biography of Raphael Lemkin

Raphael Lemkin (* 24. June 1900 in Biazvodna; † 28. August 1959 in New York City) was a polnisch-jüdischer Jurist und Friedensforscher. He was 59 years old. His education included Law Faculty of Lviv University, Heidelberg University and Lviv University. He worked at Yale University and Duke University. His awards include Cross of the Order of Merit of the Federal Republic of Germany and Four Freedoms Award – Freedom of Worship. His cause of death was myocardial infarction. He was buried at Mount Hebron Cemetery.
