Ray Dolby (* 18. January 1933 in Portland; † 12. September 2013 in San Francisco) was an american engineer and inventor of the Dolby noise reduction system. He was 80 years old. He was married to Dagmar Dolby. He had 2 children. His education included San José State University, Sequoia High School, Stanford University and Pembroke College. He received 10 awards, including Officer of the Order of the British Empire, National Medal of Technology and Innovation. His cause of death was leukemia.
