Rikus Schoonees (* 20. October 1937 in Kuruman; † 14. July 2014) was a south African urologist. He was 76 years old. His education included Paul Roos Gymnasium, Stellenbosch University and St Edmund Hall. He worked at Karl Bremer Hospital, Hammersmith Hospital, Charlotte Maxeke Johannesburg Academic Hospital, Roswell Park Comprehensive Cancer Center and Stellenbosch University. His awards include Rhodes Scholarship and Fellowship of the Royal College of Surgeons.
