Biography of Rudolf Schmitt

Rudolf Schmitt (* 5. August 1830 in Wippershain; † 18. February 1898 in Radebeul) was a deutscher Chemiker, Mitbegründer der Kolbe-Schmitt-Reaktion. He was 67 years old. He studied at University of Marburg. He worked at TUD Dresden University of Technology and University of Kassel. His awards include Knight I Class of the Saxon Order of Civil Merit, Knight Grand Cross of the Order of Albrecht the Bold and Geheimrat.
