Rudolf Vrba (* September 11, 1924 in Topoľčany; † March 27, 2006 in Vancouver) was a slovak-Jewish Auschwitz escapee, Canadian biochemist. He was 81 years old. He was married to Gerta Vrbová. His awards include Grand Cross of the Order of the White Double Cross‎ and honorary doctorate of Haifa University. His cause of death was cancer.
