Biography of Sally Ride

Sally Ride (* 26. May 1951 in Los Angeles; † 23. July 2012 in La Jolla) was an american astronaut and physicist. She was 61 years old. She was married to Steven Hawley. Her education included Stanford University, Los Angeles Unified School District, Birmingham High School, Harvard-Westlake School and Swarthmore College. She received 10 awards, including NASA Space Flight Medal, Fellow of the American Physical Society. Her cause of death was pancreatic cancer. She was buried at Woodlawn Memorial Cemetery.
