Shirley Chisholm (* 30. November 1924 in Brooklyn; † 1. January 2005 in Ormond Beach) was a first black woman elected to the United States Congress. She was 80 years old. She was married to Conrad Chisholm. Her education included Columbia University, Brooklyn College, Teachers College, Girls' High School and Boys and Girls High School. Her faith was Baptists. She received 5 awards, including National Women's Hall of Fame, Presidential Medal of Freedom. Her cause of death was stroke. She was buried at Forest Lawn Cemetery.
