Soghomon Balyan (* 14. March 1917 in Gyumri; † 15. May 2002 in Yerevan) was an armenian geographer. He was 85 years old. His education included Gyumri No. 6 school and Faculty of Theology, Yerevan State University. He worked at National Academy of Sciences of Armenia, Institute of Geological Sciences of National Academy of Sciences of Armenia and Yerevan State University. His awards include Order of Alexander Nevsky, Order of the Red Star and Order of the Badge of Honour.
