Biography of Valentin Gapontsev

Valentin Gapontsev (* 23. February 1939 in Moscow; † 22. October 2021 in United States) was a soviet physicist. He was 82 years old. He studied at Lviv Polytechnic. He worked at V.A. Kotelnikov Institute of Radio-engineering and Electronics, Moscow Institute of Physics and Technology and IPG Photonics. His awards include State Prize of the Russian Federation and Arthur L. Schawlow Award.
