Valentin Varennikov (* December 15, 1923 in Krasnodar; † May 6, 2009 in Moscow) was a soviet general and Russian politician. He was 85 years old. He studied at Military Academy of the General Staff of the Armed Forces of Russia. He received a total of 28 awards. He was buried at Troyekurovskoye cemetery.
