William A. Worton (* 4. January 1897 in Boston; † 25. July 1973 in La Jolla) was an uSMC Major general and Police Chief of Los Angeles. He was 76 years old. His education included Boston University School of Law and Harvard College. He worked at Los Angeles Police Department. His awards include Bronze Star Medal, Legionnaire of Legion of Merit and Purple Heart. He was buried at Arlington National Cemetery.
