William Ingalls (* 3. May 1769 in Newburyport; † 8. September 1851 in Wrentham) was an american surgeon, first in the US to amputate at the shoulder joint for a gunshot wound. He was 82 years old. His education included Harvard College and Harvard Medical School. He was buried at Mount Auburn Cemetery.
