Vladimir Bukovsky (* 30. December 1942 in Belebey; † 27. October 2019 in Addenbrooke's Hospital) was a soviet dissident; prominent in the Soviet dissident movement of the 1960s and 1970s and spent a total of twelve years in psychiatric prison-hospitals, labor camps and prisons within the Soviet Union. He was 76 years old. His education included Medvednevskaya gymnasium, MSU Faculty of Biology, King's College and Stanford University. He was awarded the Truman-Reagan Medal of Freedom. His cause of death was cardiac arrest. He was buried at Highgate Cemetery.
