Vladimir Toporov (* 5. July 1928 in Moscow; † 5. December 2005 in Moscow) was a russian philologist. He was 77 years old. He was married to Tatjana Jakowlewna Jelisarenkowa. His education included Lomonosov Moscow State University and Philological Faculty of Moscow State University. He received 6 awards, including USSR State Prize, Grand Medal of the Latvian Academy of Sciences. He was buried at Pyatnitskoye cemetery.
