Alan MacDiarmid (* 14. April 1927 in Masterton; † 7. February 2007 in Drexel Hill) was a new Zealand chemist. He was 79 years old. His education included Victoria University of Wellington, University of Wisconsin–Madison, Sidney Sussex College, University of Cambridge, Hutt Valley High School and Weir House. He received 10 awards, including Nobel Prize in Chemistry, Friendship Award. His cause of death was falling from height. He was buried at Arlington Cemetery.
