Biography of Alexis Carrel

Alexis Carrel (* 28. June 1873 in Sainte-Foy-lès-Lyon; † 5. November 1944 in Paris) was a französischer Chirurg, Nobelpreisträger für Medizin 1912. He was 71 years old. He was married to Anne Gourlez de La Motte. His education included University of Lyon and Saint-Marc Lycée. He worked at University of Chicago and The Rockefeller University. His faith was Catholicism. He received 6 awards, including Nobel Prize in Physiology or Medicine, Officer of the Legion of Honour.
