Biography of Anders Jonas Ångström

Anders Jonas Ångström (* 13. August 1814 in Lögdö bruk; † 21. June 1874 in Uppsala) was a schwedischer Astronom und Physiker sowie Mitbegründer der Astrospektroskopie. He was 59 years old. He was married to Augusta Carolina Bedoire. He had at least 2 children (1 son and 1 daughter). He studied at Uppsala University. He worked at Uppsala Astronomical Observatory and Uppsala University. His awards include Rumford Medal and Foreign Member of the Royal Society. He was buried at Uppsala Old Cemetery.
