Andrzej Wajda (* 6. March 1926 in Suwałki; † 9. October 2016 in Warsaw) was a polish film director. He was 90 years old. He was married to Gabriela Obremba. His education included Jan Matejko Academy of Fine Arts in Krakow and National Film School in Łódź. He received 10 awards, including Commander of the Legion of Honour, Commandeur des Arts et des Lettres. His cause of death was respiratory failure. He was buried at Salwator Cemetery.
