Biography of Augustin-Louis Cauchy

Augustin-Louis Cauchy (* 21. August 1789 in Paris; † 23. May 1857 in Sceaux) was a französischer Mathematiker. He was 67 years old. His education included École Nationale des Ponts et Chaussées, Lycée Henri-IV and École polytechnique. He worked at University of Paris, University of Turin, Corps of bridges, waters and forests, École polytechnique, Collège de France and Charles X of France. His faith was Catholic Church. He received 7 awards, including Pour le Mérite for Sciences and Arts order, Knight of the Legion of Honour. He was buried at Cemetery Sceaux.
