His education included University of Colorado Boulder, Yale Law School, Hertford College and University of Colorado. He received 4 awards, including Bronze Star Medal, Presidential Medal of Freedom. His cause of death was pneumonia. He was buried at Cathedral of St. John in the Wilderness.
