Biography of Dawda Jawara

Dawda Kairaba Jawara (* 16. May 1924 in Barajally; † 27. August 2019 in Fajara) was a 1st President of the Gambia. He was 95 years old. He was married to Augusta Jawara. His education included Achimota School, University of Glasgow and University of Liverpool. His faith was Islam. He received 4 awards, including Knight Grand Cross of the Order of St Michael and St George, Grand Cross of the National Order of Mali.
