Edgar Mitchell (* 17. September 1930 in Hereford; † 4. February 2016 in West Palm Beach) was an american astronaut. He was 85 years old. His education included Massachusetts Institute of Technology, U.S. Air Force Test Pilot School, Carnegie Mellon University, Naval Postgraduate School, United States Naval Academy and Artesia High School. He received 5 awards, including Presidential Medal of Freedom, Navy Distinguished Service Medal. His cause of death was kidney cancer. He was buried at Arlington National Cemetery.
