Biography of Eric Birley

Eric Birley (* 12. January 1906 in Eccles; † 20. October 1995 in Vindolanda) was a britischer Althistoriker und Provinzialrömischer Archäologe. He was 89 years old. He was married to Margaret Birley. He had at least 1 child (1 son). His education included Brasenose College and Clifton College. He worked at Hatfield College and Durham University. His awards include Fellow of the Society of Antiquaries, Fellow of the British Academy and Member of the Order of the British Empire.
