Erich Gutenberg (* 13. December 1897 in Herford; † 22. May 1984 in Cologne) was a deutscher Wissenschaftler, Begründer der modernen Betriebswirtschaftslehre. He was 86 years old. His education included Martin Luther University Halle-Wittenberg, Friedrichs-Gymnasium Herford and Hochschule Hannover. He worked at Goethe University Frankfurt, University of Münster, Friedrich Schiller University Jena and University of Cologne. His awards include Commander's Cross of the Order of Merit of the Federal Republic of Germany and honorary doctor of the Saarland University.
