Biography of Ernst Steinmann

Ernst Steinmann (* 4. September 1866 in Jördenstorf; † 23. November 1934 in Basel) was a deutscher Kunsthistoriker und Museumsdirektor. He was 68 years old. He was married to Olga Steinmann. His education included University of Tübingen, University of Rostock and Leipzig University. He worked at Leipzig University, Staatliches Museum Schwerin and Bibliotheca Hertziana – Max Planck Institute for Art History. His awards include Order of the Red Eagle 4th Class, Order of St. Sylvester and Order of the Wendish Crown. His cause of death was stroke.
