General Soedirman (* 24. January 1916 in Purbalingga; † 29. January 1950 in Magelang) was a first Commander-in-Chief of the Indonesian armed forces. He was 34 years old. His education included Hollandsch-Inlandsche School and Meer Uitgebreid Lager Onderwijs. His faith was Islam. He received 4 awards, including National Hero of Indonesia, Star of the Republic of Indonesia. His cause of death was tuberculosis. He was buried at Kusumanegara Heroes' Cemetery.
