Biography of George Weidenfeld

George Weidenfeld (* 13. September 1919 in Vienna; † 20. January 2016 in London) was a britisch-österreichischer Verleger und Diplomat. He was 96 years old. He was married to Barbara Skelton and Sandra Helen Payson. His education included University of Vienna, Bundesgymnasium Wien 8 and Diplomatic Academy of Vienna. He worked at Ben-Gurion University of the Negev and British Broadcasting Corporation. He received 8 awards, including Knight Grand Cross of the Order of the British Empire, Order of Merit of Baden-Württemberg. He was buried at Mount of Olives Jewish Cemetery.
