Biography of Guri Iwanowitsch Martschuk

Guri Iwanowitsch Martschuk (* 8. June 1925 in Petrokhersonets; † 24. March 2013 in Moscow) was a russischer Mathematiker. He was 87 years old. His education included Mathematics and Mechanics Faculty, St. Petersburg State University and Saint Petersburg State University. He worked at G. I. Marchuk Institute of Computational Mathematics, Red Army, A.M. Obukhov Institute of Atmospheric Physics RAS, Institute of Physics and Power Engineering JSC, Siberian Branch of the Russian Academy of Sciences, Moscow Institute of Physics and Technology, MSU Faculty of Computational Mathematics and Cybernetics and Lomonosov Moscow State University. He received 10 awards, including USSR State Prize, Order of Lenin. He was buried at Novodevichy Cemetery.
