Biography of Harlow Shapley

Harlow Shapley (* 2. November 1885 in Nashville; † 20. October 1972 in Boulder) was an uS-amerikanischer Astronom. He was 86 years old. He was married to Martha Betz Shapley. He had at least 5 children (4 sons and 1 daughter). His education included Princeton University and University of Missouri. He worked at Harvard University, Harvard College Observatory and Mount Wilson Observatory. He received 9 awards, including Prix Jules Janssen, Henry Draper Medal. He was buried at North Cemetery.
