Biography of Hilda Geiringer

Hilda Geiringer (* 28. September 1893 in Vienna; † 22. March 1973 in Santa Barbara) was an austro-amerikanische Mathematikerin. She was 79 years old. She was married to Felix Pollaczek and Richard von Mises. Her education included University of Vienna and Humboldt-Universität zu Berlin. She worked at Brown University, Humboldt-Universität zu Berlin, Istanbul University, Bryn Mawr College and Wheaton College. Her awards include Fellow of the Institute of Mathematical Statistics and Fellow of the American Academy of Arts and Sciences. She was buried at Mount Auburn Cemetery.
