Biography of Ilja Lifschitz

Ilja Lifschitz (* 31. December 1916 in Kharkiv; † 23. October 1982 in Moscow) was a theoretischer Physiker. He was 65 years old. His education included National University of Kharkiv and Kharkiv Polytechnic Institute. He worked at Kharkiv Institute of Physics and Technology, P.L. Kapitza Institute for Physical Problems RAS, National University of Kharkiv and Lomonosov Moscow State University. He received 4 awards, including Order of the Red Banner of Labour, Lenin Prize. He was buried at Troyekurovskoye cemetery.
