Biography of Islom Karimov

Islam Karimov (* 30. January 1938 in Samarkand; † 2. September 2016 in Tashkent) was a 1st President of the Republic of Uzbekistan. He was 78 years old. He was married to Tatyana Karimova. His education included Tashkent State Technical University and Tashkent State University of Economics. His faith was Sunni Islam. He received 10 awards, including Cross of Recognition, Order of the Red Banner of Labour. His cause of death was cerebral hemorrhage. He was buried at Hazrat-Hyzr Mosque.
