Biography of James Barr

James Barr (* 20. March 1924 in Glasgow; † 14. October 2006 in Claremont) was a schottischer Philologe, presbyterianischer Pfarrer, Hebraist und Alttestamentler. He was 82 years old. His education included University of Edinburgh and Stewart's Melville College. He worked at University of Manchester, Vanderbilt University, University of Oxford, University of Edinburgh, Princeton Theological Seminary and Victoria University of Manchester. His faith was Presbyterianism. He received 4 awards, including Guggenheim Fellowship, Fellow of the British Academy.
