Biography of José Mutis

José Mutis (* 6. April 1732 in Cádiz; † 11. September 1808 in Bogotá) was a spanischer Botaniker und Mathematiker. He was 76 years old. His education included University of Seville, Colegio de San Hermenegildo, Royal Court of the Proto Medicato and Royal College of Surgery of the Spanish Navy. He worked at Jardín botánico de Migas Calientes, Viceroyalty of New Granada and Our Lady of the Rosary University. His faith was Catholic Church. His cause of death was stroke. He was buried at Capilla de La Bordadita.
