Biography of Joseph Gallieni

Joseph Gallieni (* 24. April 1849 in Saint-Béat; † 27. May 1916 in Versailles) was a französischer General und Gouverneur von Madagaskar. He was 67 years old. His education included Prytanée National Militaire and École Spéciale Militaire de Saint-Cyr. His awards include Grand Cross of the Legion of Honour, Marshal of France and Godfather promotion of Special Military School of Saint-Cyr. His cause of death was prostate cancer. He was buried at Alphonse-Karr cemetery.
