Biography of Lakshmi Sahgal

Lakshmi Sahgal (* 24. October 1914 in Chennai; † 23. July 2012 in Kanpur) was an officer in the Indian National Army (INA) and former presidential candidate of India. She was 97 years old. She was married to Prem Sahgal. Her education included Madras Medical College and Queen Mary's College. Her faith was atheism. She was awarded the Padma Vibhushan in Public Affairs. Her cause of death was cardiac arrest.
