Magdalena Abakanowicz (* 20. June 1930 in Falenty; † 20. April 2017 in Warsaw) was a polish textile artist and sculptor. She was 86 years old. She studied at Academy of Fine Arts, Warsaw. She received 10 awards, including Officer of Arts and Letters, Pour le Mérite for Sciences and Arts order. She was buried at Powązki Military Cemetery.
